HUM 395-0 Humanities Seminar (1 Unit)  

Interdisciplinary course offered by a changing roster of humanities faculty. Topics have included cities as modern utopia/dystopia; the afterlife of Marxism; the politics of reputation; being animal, being human; writing ancestry.

HUM 400-0 Foundations of Public Humanities Work (1 Unit)  

The term “Public Humanities” refers to humanistic scholarship that substantively engages with communities beyond the academy. This course explores critical approaches to the public humanities and asks what it means to be a publicly engaged scholar through readings, case studies, experiential learning opportunities, and guest lectures from public humanities practitioners and community partners.
