Environmental Sciences Second Major for ISP Students
Students must also complete the Undergraduate Registration Requirement and the degree requirements of their home school.
Second Major for ISP (10 units beyond ISP requirements)
The Integrated Science Program is a highly selective BA program in Weinberg College (see Integrated Science Program). Students majoring in ISP who wish to complete a second major in environmental sciences should fulfill the following requirements instead of those listed for the stand-alone Environmental Science major.
Double-counting note: Students who may be considering adding a third major (or a minor) to ISP+environmental science should keep in mind that Weinberg College prohibits double-counting a major course toward some other major or minor, except where this is explicitly permitted in this catalog. Weinberg College does allow double-counting a major course toward a general bachelor's degree requirement (i.e. degree requirements other than majors or minors). Other programs or schools may have their own restrictions that supersede this, so check the relevant parts of this catalog for possible limits.

7 Advanced Studies Courses
Courses selected from the lists of Advanced Studies courses on the stand-alone Environmental Science major page. May include 1 unit of EARTH 399-0 (or INTG_SCI 398-0 if research is related to environmental science), and 1 unit of 400-level EARTH course with permission from the Director of Undergraduate Studies (DUS). EARTH 397-0 is excluded. See Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences webpage for mid-year updates to lists.
- All Advanced Studies courses must be at the 300-level (Environmental Science program may approve 400-level substitutions).
- 5 courses selected from the Science List.
- 2 courses selected from the Society List, including at least one approved Environmental Policy and Culture (ENVR_POL) course
Skills Requirement
Students must take at least one course from two of the three Skills Areas listed below. No course may be counted for more than one Skills Area simultaneously, but if a Skill Area course is on either the Science List or Society List, it may be directed to that requirement while also counting towards the Skill Area. Some topic offerings of EARTH 390-0 may be applied to a Skill Area with department approval, and new courses not yet in this Catalog edition may also be eligible. Recent EARTH 390-0 classes that qualify include: GIS Level 1 & GIS Level 2 (Spatial Reasoning), and Analytical Techniques in Geochemistry (Analytical/Instrumentation/Field).
