PHYSICS 125-1 General Physics ISP & PHYSICS 125-2 General Physics for ISP or PHYSICS 140-1 Fundamentals of Physics & PHYSICS 140-2 Fundamentals of Physics may be substituted for PHYSICS 135-1 General Physics & PHYSICS 135-2 General Physics. Concurrent registration with the associated Chemistry and Physics labs is required. PHYSICS 135-3 General Physics is often a required course for premed students and is part of the approved technical elective list for Chemical Engineering students. PHYSICS 135-3 General Physics may also be substituted by PHYSICS 125-3 General Physics for ISP or PHYSICS 140-3 Fundamentals of Physics.

BIOL_SCI 201-0 Molecular Biology or BIOL_SCI 202-0 Cell Biology may be substituted for CHEM_ENG 275-0 Molecular & Cell Biology for Engineers. Exemptions from this one unit of biology coursework are NOT granted for students placing out of BIOL_SCI 201-0 Molecular Biology through the Biological Sciences Department's placement test. These students may use CHEM_ENG 275-0 Molecular & Cell Biology for Engineers or BIOL_SCI 202-0 Cell Biology to complete the required biology unit. ISP students may petition to use BIOL_SCI 240-0 Fundamentals of Cellular Processes in place of CHEM_ENG 275-0 Molecular & Cell Biology for Engineers. Students interested in pursuing the Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering Minor should take the Biological Sciences 201, 202, 203 sequence.
