Global Health Studies Minor

Double-counting note: Weinberg College prohibits double-counting a minor course toward some other major or minor, except where this is explicitly permitted in this catalog. Weinberg College does allow double-counting a minor course toward a general bachelor's degree requirement (i.e. degree requirements other than majors or minors). Other programs or schools may have their own restrictions that supersede this, so check the relevant parts of this catalog for possible limits.

All students complete:
Introduction to Global Health
Plus one of the following:
Global Bioethics
Community-based Participatory Research Course
Qualitative Research Methods in Global Health
2 additional GBL_HLTH courses, no more than 1 at the 200-level 1
3 non-GHS elective courses, no more than 1 at the 200-level. Elective credits can be fulfilled by pre-approved health-related courses from various departments, as listed on the GHS major page and program website. Up to two courses taken abroad can be counted as electives provided they are NU or NU-affiliated study abroad programs and the courses have been pre-approved for GHS elective credit. Study abroad courses taken that are not NU-affiliated need prior approval from the DUS.
