Degree Requirements
The following requirements are in addition to, or further elaborate upon, those requirements outlined in The Graduate School Policy Guide.
Bachelor's/MS
Recommended Undergraduate Coursework
Undergraduates intending to apply to the Bachelor's/MS program are strongly encouraged to complete these courses in the undergraduate curriculum:
- COMP_SCI 180-0 Software Design & Composition or COMP_SCI 111-0 Fundamentals of Computer Programming
- COMP_SCI 208-0 Data Structures & Algorithms
- COMP_SCI 211-0 Programming in Systems-Level Languages
- COMP_SCI 212-0 Math Foundations of CS Part 1: Discrete Math for CS
- COMP_SCI 213-0 Introduction to Computer System
MS Requirements
Total Units Required for the Master's Degree: 12
- The general requirements are that you satisfactorily complete 12 courses. Three of the courses must be 400-level courses. Beyond the general requirements, however, there are three options available for the MS program: coursework, project, or thesis. For information on the requirements for the three options see Computer Science MS.
- Courses used to fulfill bachelor's degree requirements may not be used to fulfill requirements for the master's degree.
