Critical Topics in Ecology and Conservation (1 unit)
A Data Science or Statistics course (1 unit). Options include but are not limited to: PBC 435 Biostatistics, PBC 470 R Data Science, PBC 470 Data Analysis & Visualization, or see PBC Handbook for further options
Elective Courses
Nine elective courses for graduate credit at the 300- or 400- level chosen from PBC and other departmental courses such as EARTH or BIOL_SCI
Plant Population and Community Ecology (1 unit)
Plant-Animal Interactions (1 unit)
Spring Flora (1 unit)
Agroecosystems: The Ecology of Food Production (1 unit)
Special Topics in Plant Biology and Conservation (1 unit)
Independent Study (1-3 Units)

Responsible Conduct in Research/Bioethics course (zero credit)

Student Research Seminar Presentation--Starting in the second year, every student presents a research seminar (zero credit)

  • Final Exam: Oral defense of a written dissertation under the direction of a faculty member and approved by a dissertation committee.
