Learning Objectives

• Thorough understanding of various modes of production involved in directing for the screen.
• Understand the context of your own work within screen history.
• Acquire a mastery of at least one chosen skill among several required to produce high quality works for the screen.
• Attain a self awareness about the trajectory of your own body of work.
• Complete at least one significant work and multiple minor works for screen and/or stage as part of a portfolio.
• Understand the processes necessary for continuing your work in a self-directed fashion after graduation.

Module Requirements (6 units)

Students must achieve a GPA of B- (2.7) or higher in courses counted toward the module to be eligible to submit a Capstone. Courses to be counted toward fulfilling module requirements may not be taken P/N with the exception of CMN capstone courses.

Core Courses (3 units)

For seniors completing their degrees at the end of winter quarter of senior year, RTVF 397-3 Advanced Directing III can be waived, but only provided the Advanced Directing Project film has been completed by the end of Winter Quarter.

Elective Courses (3 units)

Students will choose any 2 production courses and 1 screen cultures course from the lists below.

Additional Requirements (0 units)

This zero-credit course encompasses all co-curricular activities and the capstone project required for completion of the module.
